MONROE, Washington — Tom Moriarity won his 6th championship at Evergreen Speedway in the NASCAR Whelan All American Series Super Late Model Division on Saturday September 11th. John Zaretzke won the race. The NASCAR Whelan All American Series Street Stock main was won by Lane Sundholm. Randy Bauer won the Rory Price Memorial ASA NSRA Main.
Moriarity won his 9th overall championship at Evergreen Speedway with three of them in the Mini-Stock division. A third place finish is all he needed to wrap up the title. Zaretzke took the lead on lap one of the 40-lap main and never had any challengers. A spirited side by side dual between Moriarity and second place finisher Jeff Knight had the crowd on their feet.
Sundholm all but wrapped up the 2010 Street Stock division title with the win of his 30-lap feature. With one more race to go, all Sundholm needs is a start. Jill Lang finished second after losing the lead back to Sundholm late in the main. The two put on quite the show with some of the best side by side action all night. Frank Cowgill finished third.
Rand Bauer won the 30-lap main in the season ending ASA NSRA series 30-lap main. Bauer got the lead with three laps to go on a restart getting by Cory Lockwood who had led the entire race up to that point. Justin Mack finished third.
Next up at Evergreen Speedway is the continuation of championship month with the Foster Press Mini-Stock division title up for grabs by three racers. Also on tap will be for the first time ever Hot Rod Drag Race Mania, Queen Bee Hornet Nest Challenge (open to ladies and all teens that have not raced in over two races), Stinger 8 Powder Puff race (ladies only that have not raced in two points races) and Hornet Open (a hornet rookie race – have not raced in more than two points races).
