CHAMPIONS CROWNED, FINALE A HUGE SUCCESS

Friday’s announcement from Magic Valley Speedway regarding the 2011 NASCAR Home Track affiliation had the crowd buzzing for Quales Electronics Championship Night. Five Championships were decided in front of a enthusiastic crowd.

The Budweiser Super Stock Championship was all but sealed by Defending Champion Kris McKean. Daniel Shirley made it to Ted’s Repair Victory Lane but McKean’s second place finish was more than enough to claim the title for the second straight year. Finishing 3rd and 4th in their first start in the super stock class were Intermountain Pro Truck Drivers John Pierre and Dan Doan with very strong runs. McKean complimented Shirley and thanked his sponsors and crew along with the fans.

Hot Rod Todd Audet became the new Brennans Carpet Champion finishing ahead of Rock Star Ray Homolka. Their spirited and sometime contentious battle coming in the latter weeks of the season kept fans (and officials) captivated. Both seemed to put their differences behind them and were happy to congratulate each other in the post race festivities. Wade Henslee won the race for his second of the season.

The Quales Electronic Hornets had the closest battle with Andy Brennan and Ty Garibay tied coming into the evening. Andy gained four points in the heat race and after a duel between himself and Ty Garibay he was able to finish one position ahead of Ty for a slim 9-point victory for the championship. Jenna Quale won with Brennan and Garibay close behind.

The Magic Valley Pipe Super Sixes put on an excellent show with Bob Bachman wining his Championship in style by winning the main event! Second in points Dean Waltman was also second in the main event with Steve Waswick rounding out the top three.

In the AMS “Bringing on the Thunder” 100 Carbon X Rocky Mountain Challenge Series race, Twin Falls own Jonathon Gomez returned to his home track to put on a dominating performance. His car was flawless and fast as he cruised to victory with new Champion Steve Jones second and third in Points Bruce Quale third. Quale pointed out the top three were all Twin Falls drivers. John Newhouse fought an ill handling car and finished fifth in the race and second in points overall.

Up next at MVS the Champions Banquet Saturday November 6th. All fans are welcome to attend.
