NASCAR K&N PRO SERIES TITLE CHASE TO HEAT UP IN ROSEVILLE

ANTELOPE, California — When it comes to NASCAR, nothing compares to the excitement of short track action under the lights on a warm Saturday night. This Saturday will surely produce just that in Roseville as the thrill of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West returns to the All American Speedway on the Placer County Fairgrounds for the Toyota/Napa Auto Parts 150 presented by Pick N Pull on October 16.

"Two time champion Eric Holmes leads a field packed with talent in penultimate series event "

Saturday's event, presented by Bill McAnally Racing of Antelope, is the second and final appearance of NASCAR's western regional tour in the central valley. The .333 mile All American Speedway is sure to be the site of speed thrills with over 400 laps of action between the four different championship divisions on tap for the event.

"BMR Promotions does a great job promoting races and it should be a fun filled night with lots of exciting racing," said Eric Holmes. Holmes is the current NASCAR K&N Series West point leader and a two time champion of the series. Saturday the local track favorite from Escalon returns to the track where he has faired well at many times in the midst of an exciting championship points battle.

"I'm looking forward to racing in front of all the NAPA, Toyota and hometown fans," added Holmes in a team press release. "All American Speedway is a great track for us and I'm going there to win and extend our point lead."

Entering Saturday's event, Holmes has four wins to his name and seven top five finishes in the 10 events that have taken place. He holds a 141 point lead over Atascadaro's David Mayhew. Mayhew is a one time winner this season in the NASCAR West campaign with seven top five finishes and the season championship still within his reach.

Sitting third in the series standings is a driver that is no stranger to AAS, Paulie Harraka of Wayne, N.J. Harraka won the series opener back in March as he started his second full season in the NASCAR K&N Pro West Series. In 2009 Harraka claimed the Sunoco Rookie of the Year title. In 2008 Harraka claimed the NASCAR Whelan All-American Series Late Model Championship at All American Speedway and he is no stranger to victory lane at the track that is home to the driver of the Napa Gold Filters #15 Toyota and his BMR team.

Moses Smith of Tempe, Arizona, is fourth and is the third driver from the local BMR stable in the top five ranks. Smith is just 52 points behind Harraka entering the event and sits 38

points ahead of Luis Martinez Jr">Luis Martinez Jr. of Long Beach. Jonathan Gomez of Twin Falls, Idaho, is one notch out of the top five over veteran driver Greg Pursley of Newhal, and Michael Self of Park City, Utah, who is second in the chase for the Rookie of the Year title over Todd Souza of Aromas, who is ninth the standings and third in the competition Rookie contention.

The K&N Pro Series is NASCAR’s premiere driver development series. The Toyota Napa Auto Parts 150 is the feature event of an action-packed night at AAS that yields four different divisions leading up to the feature race. Additional divisions on hand include the SRL Spears Southwest Tour Series, Legends of the Pacific, and the WSRA scale racing division.

One of the most spectacular preludes to the feature race will take place when local television/radio celebrities compete in the second annual A-All Mini Storage Media Blitz 100 presented by Xfinity. This event puts the reporters and talk show hosts behind the wheel along with a co-pilot in a 100 lap late model race for charity

Prior to the racing don’t miss the free Pick-N-Pull Fan Fest that will take place on Friday evening from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m.at the All American Speedway. The impressive K&N Pro Series race cars and fancy haulers will be on display. Many drivers will be on hand for an autograph session. The event also features the UTI Pit Crew Challenge, games and family activities as well as free food and beverages furnished by Straw Hat Pizza while supplies last.
