
ANTELOPE, California — This Saturday night the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West returns to the All American Speedway on the Placer County Fairgrounds for the Toyota/Napa Auto Parts 150 presented by Pick N Pull on Saturday. While many eyes will be focused on the battle for the series title, the competition for the 2010 Sunoco Rookie of the Year title will surely produce a great track battle in itself.

Presented by Bill McAnally Racing of Antelope, Saturday's event is the penultimate event in the 2010 NASCAR West Series. With just two events left on the schedule, the pressure is on for numerous young drivers as they contend for a title that is just as closely followed as the series championship.
The Sunoco Rookie of the Year title is determined annually by a separate points system that is calculated by the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. Drivers are awarded accumulative points for their performance in each series event to determine the title at the conclusion of the series. Much like season's past, the 2010 contest for the title is a heated one and the .333 mile banked oval at All American Speedway will surely produce an action packed battle ground as a handful of young talent will look to improve their rank in this competitive contest.
Topping the NASCAR K&N Series West point standings for the Sunoco Rookie of the year is Luis Martinez Jr">Luis Martinez Jr. of Long Beach. Martinez drives the King Taco-Sunrise Ford #6 owned by championship car owner Bob Bruncati leads the sits fifth in the overall series point standings with three top five finishes in ten starts this season. Martinez currently leads the Sunoco Rookie of the Year point standings by a six point margin over Michael Self of Park City Utah.
Many eyes will be on Self at All American Speedway this Saturday night as he looks to close in on Martinez aboard a new ride. After making 10 starts this season for Motorway Motorsports, Self has signed with Jim Offenbach's Golden Gate Racing Team and will strap into the Bay Bio Diesel #21 for the remainder of the season beginning Saturday. Both Self and his new team historically perform well at Roseville. Self is eighth in the overall NASCAR West driver point standings with one top five finishes and four top tens.
Rounding out the trio of closely contested Sunoco Rookie contenders will be Todd Souza of Aromas. Souza is just four points behind Self in the Rookie of the Year standings. Souza drives the Kelly Souza owned Central Coast Cabinets #13 Chevrolet and sits ninth in the overall series point standings with six top ten finishes in the nine starts he has made.
Travis Milburn of Eagle Idaho is fourth in the Sunoco Rookie standings. The driver of the Bob Wood owned Cooks Collision #14 Chevrolet is 11th in the overall standings where he sits ahead of Roseville's own Greg Rayl, driver of the Spectator Racing #07 Ford. Josh Combs of Sacramento sits just one spot out of the top five in the rookie contention aboard the Grape King-Sunrise Ford #9 Ford.
The K&N Pro Series is NASCAR’s premiere driver development series. In addition to the talented contenders of the Sunoco Rookie of the Year battle, look for former two time series champion Eric Holmes of Escalon to lead the field of drivers as he looks to extend his current series point lead en route to a third possible title.
The Toyota Napa Auto Parts 150 is the feature event of an action-packed night at AAS. Additional divisions on hand include the SRL Spears Southwest Tour Series, Legends of the Pacific, and the WSRA scale racing division. Local media celebrities will compete in the second annual A-All Mini Storage Media Blitz 100 presented by Xfinity.
Prior to race day it’s a big night at the All American Speedway with the free Pick-N-Pull Fan Fest that will take place on Friday evening from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. The K&N Pro Series race cars and haulers will be on display. Many drivers will be on hand for an autographs. The event also features the entertaining UTI Pit Crew Challenge, various games and family activities including bounce houses and more. The event offers free food and beverages furnished by Straw Hat Pizza while supplies last.

General admission prices start at $35 for adults, juniors 6-11 are $15, Kids 5 and under will be admitted for free. VIP Hospitality tickets are also available for $70. These limited availability packages include your race ticket, meal with beverages a gift bag, VIP seating and driver appearances.
The grandstands will open at 3 p.m. on Saturday and will feature a midway of activity and exhibits that are fun for the whole family and race fans of all ages. The pre race fan fest begins at 5:30 on Friday evening. For additional information call (916) 676-0256.
