
The second annual Pumpkin Cup has turned into an open wheel festival for the 2010 running at the Chowchilla Speedway on October 29th and 30th.
In addition to the open wheel racing action, Saturday night the 30th will feature a Halloween costume contest, a hayride around the race track and a trick or treat for the kids through the pits! If that is not enough Saturday night will also features a destruction derby in a pit filled with pumpkins! We don’t stop there, we will also have a stunt man that will drive a car and hit a ramp at high speed to roll and crash into a pile of pumpkins!
On the racing side of the Pumpkin Cup, Friday night the 29th features night one of the Open Spec Sprint car races. There is also an open practice session scheduled on Friday night for the other classes that will race Saturday night.
Saturday night the 30th things really get cranked up as the winged 360 sprint cars arrive, as well as the BCRA Midgets, the BCRA Winged Midget Lites, the Sport Mods and Valley Sportsman. Saturday night is round two for the Open Spec Sprint Championship Shootout, and this is the night one driver will earn the title of King of the Open Spec Sprints.
Pit gates open Friday night at 5:00pm with racing action starting at 7:00pm. Grandstands open at 6:00pm on Friday night, adult tickets are just $10, juniors are $5 and kids five and under are free!
Saturday pit gates open at 3:00pm with racing action starting at 5:00pm. Grandstands open at 4:00pm on Saturday night, adult tickets are $15, juniors are $7 and kids five and under get in for free!
