The 2010 Intermountain Pro Truck series season officially came to an end last night as our Champions Banquet concluded. Jerry Rice was crowned the 2010 Champion with J. “P” Johnny Pierre as the runner up. Scott Luttmer was on hand to accept his award for third place. Series veteran Alan Larson presented Wayne Gunderson with an appreciation plaque for his hard work and dedication to keeping the series moving forward for all these years.

Changes announced for the 2011 season included Randy Kerr taking over the duties as Series Promoter. Mike Nelson will be returning as the Race Director, Tom (Pappy) Kerr returning as the Chief Steward and Carolyn Nelson will be returning to help with the administrative paperwork and photography.

The banquet ran in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Challenge series banquet at Cactus Petes Resort and Hotel in Jackpot Nevada. Jackpot is home for entertainment and that proved true as Mike Minegar (Rocky Mountain Challenge series Promoter) dazzled the crowd picking on most everyone in the room. “I haven’t spent much time around that guy, I had no idea he was that funny” Jerry Rice said after the banquet.

Mike Minegar talked about his excitement to see the truck and the late model cars racing together at several events this year and how we can help each other become even more successful when combining our resources. Mike and Randy have a long history together and have a huge mutual respect for one another. When asked about Mike Randy said, “Mike is an awesome guy that loves the sport of racing. His relationship with his races is what I hope to model my relationship with the truck guys after. We have been talking about things we can help each other with and really feel our partnership is going to help both series’ grow”

Although they had other commitments Doug Binstock, Eddy McKean and Adam Nelson all sent a message letting everyone know they are looking forward to an awesome 2011 with the Intermountain Pro Trucks being a big part of that success.

Meridian Speedway will be cross promoting with the Intermountain Pro Trucks allowing us to use ticket packages from the speedway to help get presenting sponsors for the two events at their track.

The Intermountain Pro Trucks is a regional touring series covering Idaho and Utah.
