DILLON, Sc — ASA-sanctioned, Dillon Motor Speedway will kick off the 2011 season on January 1 with the first annual New Year's Day 300.
The ASA-sanctioned event will consist of six features for the New Year's Day celebration. The features will include the UCAR Clash for Cash, UCAR Modifieds, Mini Cup, Legends, Bandoleros, and a brand new Street Stock series. The race weekend is sponsored by Darlington Raceway and the Raceway Automotive Group.
The new Street Stock series will make their debut at ASA-sanctioned, Dillon Motor Speedway for the New Year's Raceolution. The series will run GM 602 and 603 crate motors. If there are over 50 cars, the purse will be $3,000, and if there are under 50 cars, the purse will be $2,000. The winner will also receive a brand new GM 602 crate engine. The UCAR Clash for Cash will race for $500 and the Mini Cup will race for $200.
On December 31, the Street Stock cars practice from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the track will close at 6:00 p.m. On January 1, practice begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 11:00 a.m. for all divisions. European Style qualifying starts at 11:00 a.m., and the green flag falls at 1:00 p.m.
