Brandon Davis left the 2010 season showing the most improvement over any late model driver at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. He is carrying momentum, and it could not come at a better time for the young driver as the next event is the Toyota Allstar Showdown which will be televised lived to the nation on January 28 and 29.
Davis ended the 2010 season as the new track record holder for late models at LA’s Half Mile Superspeedway, an impressive feat which had not been touched since 2006 when team owner Tim Huddleston claimed it. Brandon continued improving during his entire rookie year and finished 8th in points despite missing 2 races along the season, and he won the last points race of the year. As far as heavy hitters for the showdown to keep an eye on, Davis is an obvious one.
This coming year will be a busy one for Brandon Davis as he returns to the seat of the #55 High Point Racing Late Model to battle it out for the 2011 championship. He will be racing the showdown to start it all off, as well as the whole points season at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. He will also be running some K&N Pro Series races, where many drivers have propelled their careers into the top tier of NASCAR.
Just like with Dylan Lupton’s #56 machine, the #55 late model in the High Point Racing stable has a name to go with it. This car’s name is “Evo,” and is a brand new car as of the last race of the 2010 season. This means it will be up to Brandon to write “Evo’s” history and accomplishments…and it is sure to be a wild ride!
