AVONDALE, Arizona — Vision Aviation Racing (VAR) Rookie, Dusty Davis, brought his Vision Airlines/Emerald Coast Resorts Toyota Tundra home in the 26th position after being caught up in a late race crash that forced him off the lead lap.

Not guaranteed a starting spot, Davis started his night off on a high note when he was able to qualify his Toyota Tundra into the 36 truck field. When the race started, Davis rolled off 19th and quickly made his way into the top-15 by lap 50. Then on lap 113 Davis was involved in an accident, not of his making, that ended any remaining chance at a lead lap finish. "The truck was coming in great and the team made some good changes. Doug Howe and I were working really well together, and then someone got a little bit antsy I guess. I haven't seen the tape yet. I had nowhere to go. I had trucks on the inside so I just went high and slowed down. Unfortunately, when the smoke cleared they were right in front of me and I just plowed right into them."

Although it was not the finish Davis and his VAR team hoped for, he believes they have a lot to be optimistic about looking forward. "The Vision Airlines/Emerald Coast Resorts Toyota Tundra was pretty good tonight. We weren't that great in practice but the team worked really hard and they came up with a good truck for the race and made great changes during the race. This is not the finish we wanted but based off tonight it looks like it will be an exciting season ahead for the races we'll get to run."

Davis, running only a part-time schedule in 2011, will compete next in the Bully Hill Vineyards 200 on April 22nd at Nashville Superspeedway.
