KYLE, Texas — Not a bad way to start the 2011 season for Jake Wright of Cedar Park, Texas in the number 96 TSRS Allison Legacy.
Posting the fastest qualifying lap in the division put Jake on the proverbial pole to start the first TSRS AL feature event of the year at Thunderhill Raceway's season opener on March 5, but a “pill draw” for actual starting positions quickly put the 14 year old to the very back of the pack for the start.
Climbing to the second position by the drop of the white flag earned him a “Hard Charger” nod for the race. Unfortunately in that final white flag lap, the car broke loose and spun. He finished in 4th place.
With a brand new look from Elevation Wraps, the 96 car also chalked up accolades for “Best Appearing” - an annual honor voted on by the fans.
Magnum Trailers, Bryant Equipment & Maintenance, and Computer Age Automotive are also on board with Jake Wright Motorsports this year and their support is much appreciated.
The season opener at THR capped off a busy couple of weeks for Jake as he also shot his first commercial for COOL-OFF, a new product to keep you cool in the pits and those grandstands this summer.
Jake will return to the banked asphalt oval at Thunderhill Raceway on March 19. Grandstands open at 4 PM with opening ceremonies at 6.
