ASA/NSRA ANNOUNCES 2011 CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE

PORTLAND, Oregon — The American Speed Association/Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association (ASA/NSRA) is pleased to announce its race schedule for 2011. The winged sprinters will run a 12-race schedule at 6 different racetracks, in 3 Northwestern states and Canada. Track lengths vary from the shortest at just .25 mile to the longest track at .686 mile.

April 2nd - Season opener - Evergreen Speedway - Monroe, WA

June 3rd & 4th - Diamond Cup - Meridian Speedway - Meridian, ID (2 separate races over 2 days)

June 25th - Rory Price Memorial - Evergreen Speedway - Monroe, WA

July 9th - Super Shoe Show - Stateline Speedway - Post Falls, ID

July 23rd - Art Pollard Memorial - Douglas County Speedway - Roseburg, OR

August 6th - Rebel Jackson Memorial - Ephrata Raceway Park - Ephrata, WA

August 19th & 20th - Daffodil Cup - Western Speedway - Sidney, BC, Canada (2 separate races over 2 days)

September 9th - 3rd Annual Tom Elliott Sportsman Classic - Meridian Speedway - Meridian, ID

September 10th - Meridian Speedway - Meridian, ID

September 24th - Don Hein/Casey Deimert Memorial - Championship Night - Douglas County Speedway - Roseburg, OR

Expected to battle for the title in 2011 is returning 2010 champion Andy Alberding in the #76 car, 2008 and 2009 champion Matt Hein, Jeff Montgomery 2006 champion in the # 33J car, Todd Coleman in the # 44 car, Chris Schmelzle returning to the series in the Zema Racing # 25z car, Sierra Jackson in the # 25 car, Justin Mack in the # 17 car, and Greg Middendorf in the # 4 car.

ASA/NSRA is the most exciting opened wheel racing on the west coast and by far the fastest. NSRA drivers currently hold 22 all time track records at venues throughout the region. These are open wheeled, winged sprint cars running on pavement utilizing 700 plus horsepower alcohol-burning engines running on oval tracks that vary in length from quarter mile to five-eights mile facilities.
