ERIC HOLMES TURNS QUICKEST TIME IN PRACTICE AT SEARS POINT RACEWAY

(SONOMA CALIF.) -- Eric Holmes was fastest in today's NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series practice at Sears Point Raceway with a speed of 93.145mph. Second quick was roadcourse ace Steve Petty. Greg Pursley who almost bagged a win at the track a year ago was third quick. Craig Raudman was 5th quick in practice. NASCAR Winston West point leader, Mark Reed, was 7th quick.

The surprise of the day was the driver for the No. 4 REF Motorsports ride, NASCAR Winston Cup driver Buckshot Jones. Sadly long-time favorite on the SW Tour, Frank Maronski Jr., rolled in turn 4 during practice. Maronski appeared to be OK, the car however received significant damage.

Qualifying for the "SNAP ON TOOLS 200" is slated to begin at 3:00pm.
