LA HABRA, California — El Cajon’s Taylor Miinch (#5) and Cameron Jocelyn (#11) out of Laguna Hills, CA finished 1st and 2nd at the ASA Truck Series race at Firebird Raceway this past weekend.
Both driving trucks owned and prepared by ATK Motorsports, Miinch and Jocelyn both took turns leading the race over the course of the 45-minute feature. Neither driver had any seat time in an ASA Truck on a road course prior to this weekend, but both proved they could overcome that lack of experience by running upfront all day.
For Miinch, this win makes it two in a row to start the 2011 ASA Truck Series season and he currently leads the series’ point standings.
“It feels good to start the season off with 2 wins”, stated Miinch. “The guys at ATK give me a truck that I can win with each race and it gives me the confidence I need to go out and do my job on the track.”
Cameron Jocelyn backed up his strong 3rd place finish in Havasu with a 2nd place finish at Firebird and left Arizona sitting 2nd in the series standings.
The next stop for the ATK Motorsports team, Taylor Miinch and the ASA Truck Series is the ½ mile circuit at Irwindale Speedway on May 28.
