ARCADIA, Caliornia — Come see Quick Pick Motorsports, one of the
" Come meet one of the Quick Pick drivers while learning how to get in or stay in shape at Rio Hondo School"
leading teams at Toyota Speedway of Irwindale, as one of the members of
the racing team will be making an appearance Saturday morning from 8 to 10
a.m. at the annual Bobby Salcedo Wellness Jog at Rio Hondo School, 11425
Wildflower Road in Arcadia and sponsored by the El Monte City School
District.
You will have the chance to meet driver Aubree Porter. Porter, who is just
16, made her debut in Irwindale a week ago in the Justice Brothers Mini
Stocks Race and had a very impressive finish.
The event is named for Bobby Salcedo, an El Monte school board member who
was murdered in Mexico in 2010.
Porter said the day is definitely for a good cause.
“Not just is this day being held for a man of peace, it’s a good way to
get healthy – something that really needs to be done by millions in our
society,” Porter said.
Porter added: “Salcedo was a good man who did not deserve to die. We can
remember him here and learn some good eating habits as well.”
Based in Oak Hills, Calif., Quick Pick Motorsports consists of three
“number 43s”: veteran truck racer Kenny Smith and teenage siblings Andrew
and Aubree Porter. All three will be racing exclusively this summer here
at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. For more information, log onto
