COTTAGE GROVE, Oregon — With the month of April on its way out the first Family Night presented by Pepsi will be this upcoming Saturday night. Originally scheduled for April 16th and eventually falling to rain the Family Night of April has been changed to this Saturday night. The Family Night special is a family of four (two adults and two kids or juniors) admission for only $25 dollars with the addition of two small sodas and hot dogs.
The first race of the season was officially brought in on April the 23rd but was cut short after heat race action due to rain. The weather has not been cooperative in 2011 as all races, save for last week, and have fallen to precipitation or wet conditions in the pit area. Classes in action this week will be Wingless Sprints (both Northwest Wingless Tour and Oregon Double Shot Series), Modifieds, All-American Street Stocks, and Hornets.
“After a partial race in the books we have seen some great racing and can’t wait for the races to come this season,” said Brian Crockett General Manager of the Cottage Grove Speedway.
Also if you attended last week’s race and retained your ticket stub when you purchase an admission ticket either this week or next week you’ll be able to get someone in for free so essentially you’re getting a free ticket. But remember the offer is only available till the 7th of May.
So come join us for an evening full of quality entertainment on one of the most prestigious facilities in the country. It will be a new year in which anything can happen and we want you to not miss a minute of the action. Be sure to pack warm clothes and a blanket as the first few weeks have some cold weather occur once the sun goes down.
The Cottage Grove Speedway is a ¼ mile high banked clay oval located in Western Oregon. The track hosts several sanctioning bodies and series throughout the season including the World of Outlaws, American Sprint Car Series, I-5 DirtCar Late Model Series, and the Interstate Sprint Car Series to name a few. Be sure and keep in touch by logging on www.cottagegrovespeedway.com or the popular social networking sites of Facebook and Twitter.
