TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Local meat producer Falls Brand sponsored a night of fun and excitement for fans in the Magic Valley. Intermission featured a good old fashioned hot dog eating contest. Contestants were given three dogs, at the green flag they began to eat with the first one finishing (swallowing the last bite!) taking the checkered flag.
The evening featured the arrival of the Intermountain Pro Trucks and Pro 4’s for their season opener. The Trucks went green to checker with Scott Luttmer moving to the front then easily driving away to victory. Johnny Pierre was a strong second with the 17 year old Dallas Montes driving from the back row to third. The Pro 4’s put on a great show with Rob Powers holding off William Barton for the win.
Coming off of her first ever Budweiser Super Stock main event win, Jenna Quale returned looking for victory lane once again finding herself tied for first in points with Casey Pehrson. Early on in the main event Quale took a wide exit out of turn four sliding into the abrupt wall in a hard crash. Steve Edens came out of the turn trying hard to check up but rear ended her and then proceeded to flip onto his side against the front stretch fence. Both drivers walked away from the bizarre crash with fans left gawking at the underneath of Eden’s car and the wrecked car of Quale. Daniel Shirley took home his second win of the season.
The Brennans Carpet Pony Stock main featured “Hot Rod” Todd Audet winning yet another trophy for his already large collection.
Quales Electronics Junior Stingers showcasing the future of racing at MVS had a big field of 10-15 year old race car legends in training. After first lap excitement that left three cars out, “Racin” Jason Quale took charge on the last lap by passing the “Young Gun” Russel Dalton for the win coming out of the last turn. 10 year old Justes (of the peace) Dalton was third.
“The Tank” Doug Brownfield was defiantly in charge during the Quales Electronics Hornets main. John Newhouse tried every way possible to catch and pass the Tank but came up short. Brownfield celebrated by standing on top of his car, arms raised in a “V” in celebration.
