BAKERSFIELD, California — On May 7th, 2011, the drivers at Bakersfield Speedway
will be “Racing For Wishes” for the MAKE-A-WISH Foundation of
Central California whose mission is to grant the wishes of children who are
challenged with a life-threatening medical condition.

Racing on Saturday, May 7th at Bakersfield Speedway will the IMCA
Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, American Stocks, and the Mini Dwarfs. There
will be a 40 lap IMCA Main Event with a $1000.00 purse. The Bakersfield
Speedway is celebrating 65 years of racing in 2011. Drivers will
be going into the stands to pass the helmet to raise money. You will get a
chance to meet some of the drivers and see them up close. There will also
be a raffle of donated items.
Driver Robby Sawyer will donate half the winnings if he wins the IMCA Race.
Hobby Stock Driver Tate Loftis has committed to donating all his winnings from the
night and American Stock Driver Kyle Wilson will also donate all his winnings.
GoLiveStream Mini Dwarf Drivers Cloie Jones and Hailee Hunnicutt have been
both collecting donations and raffle items to support racing for wishes. Hailee
Hunnicutt has designed her entire car for Racing 4 Wishes.
Bakersfield College Cheerleaders will be there performing the trophy girl duties.
A portion of the ticket sales will go to The MAKE-A-WISH Foundation.

An example of some of the WISHES granted children are: A trip to The
Super Bowl, A Disney Cruise, To meet Miley Cyrus, A trip to New York
City, and to announce the first quarter of a Steelers Game.
The average WISH costs $5000.00.
