With the Team's expansion to running two cars in the Southwest Series came the need to name new Crew Chiefs. Team owner, Milan Garrett had always been the Crew Chief for Clint Curry, but had to relinquish the responsibility when he decided to get behind the wheel himself.
Team member Jason Van Gronigan will be heading up the #85 team with driver Clint Curry. Jason is a long time friend of Curry's and enjoys racing his quad when he's not busy with the Champion Wheel team. He would like to pursue a career in racing and feels this is a step in that direction.
Brad Collins, who has been a crew member for the last several years, will take over the #42 car driven by team owner Milan Garrett. Collins is the Automotive Instructor at Porterville High School and is the advisor to the PHS race team. He will be doing double duty this Saturday Night as both the Southwest Tour and the Chevron High School Racing Series hit the track at Mesa Marin Raceway. It will be a busy week for Collins as his high school team is scrambling to make repairs to their car after a serious crash in last Sautrday's season opener.
With marked improvement in the last couple of races, the CWI Team is looking forward to racing both cars under the direction of their new Crew Chiefs this coming Saturday at Mesa Marin Raceway.
