A race within a race is what the Coca Cola 125 is all about. The local NASCAR Super Late Model Division will be racing for the local track championship points and overall with other visiting racers for the shootout win. The local point leader Naima Lang will be out to win a third in row to start the season. Lang is no stranger to big track. He has gained many wins over his career in a late model including an ASA Northwest Late Model Tour win last season. Second in points Tom Moriarity has seen much success on the big track. Visiting drivers expected are Ron Eaton, Jason Fraser and Mark Sundberg to mention a few. Both Eaton and Fraser have won on the monster 5/8-mile.
The Street Stock Division continues its season after a week off. Current point leader Joe Kneeland looks for back to back wins. Defending division champion Lane Sundholm is aiming to regain his winning stride. Third in the 2011 standings, Brian Cottrell is always a threat to make it to victory stage.
Once again this season a great point’s chase is on in the Hornet Division. Jamie Corbett is in the lead for the 2011 title. Just behind are Richard Morgan Jr. and Troy Johnson. Johnson made it to victory stage the last time out for this fan favorite class.
The newest form of motor sports, drifting is the hottest thing in the world at this time. Evergreen Speedway has formed a series and they will have an exhibition for the fans. The very intricate style of racing will provide the fan with much excitement.
Later this season the ASA (American Speed Association) NSRA Winged Sprint Cars will roll into Evergreen Speedway. Saturday night there will be a teaser by some of the local drivers as to what the fans will be in store for on June 25.
