RACE #6 COMING UP SATURDAY MAY 21ST

COTTAGE GROVE, Oregon — With a year of dodgy weather that has put some events out of complete commission (April 2nd and 9th) and one partial event (Race #1 on April 23rd) it seem incredible that we are almost exiting the month of May. It also doesn’t seem true when you think that all events in May to this date have been completed and the last weekend in April have made it four straight events completed for the year but the official count is at five races in the books due to the event on the 23rd, which was rained out before the main events, which allotted points to the participating teams. On hand for this coming Saturday night will be Non-Wing Sprints, Modifieds, All-American Street Stocks, and the 2011 debut of the Washington Midget Racing Association.

"Are you a business looking to expand your reach to customers abroad? The Cottage Grove Speedway host tens of thousands of fans and potential consumers every season and through advertising you can reach them directly. "

The Non-Wing Sprints already have one race in the books with Kyle Miller of Eugene dominating the April 30th feature. Miller was also able to perform the clean sweep and besting the field which consisted of the Northwest Wingless Tour and Oregon Double Shot Series. The NWWT will not be on hand this weekend as they will be visiting the Skagit Speedway in Alger, Washington but the ODSS will be on the bill against the regulars of the Cottage Grove Speedway.

After two races the Modifieds will possibly see a second different winner after three races. The class has participated in three events (April 23rd and 30th as well as May 14th) with only two being completed and seeing the same result, Jesse Williamson winning. Although last Saturday night the COburg driver managed to squeak by in the last laps to win unlike the first feature he won on April 30th when he lapped every car except second place.

The All-American Street Stocks have seen two different winners in three completed events as both winners share the same surname. The Langan brothers in the last three years have dominated the ranks of the class. Andrew won the first complete event on April 30th while the last two on May 7th and 14th have gone to his older brother T.J. The last race saw an exciting performance between the two of them with the race being decided in the last laps.

The Washington Midget Racing Association (WMRA) for 2011 have races planned both on dirt and pavement. The group officially absorbed the Midget contingent of the NWWT and Northern Outlaw Midget Association (NOMA) at the conclusion the season last fall. The group has had two events already this year with both being competed on pavement and both being won by Tacoma, Washington’s Evan Margeson at the South Sound Speedway in Tenino, Washington and the Wentacheee Valley Super Oval in Central Washington the event will also be the first of seven events to be held at “the Grove”.

The night will be sponsored by the fine folks at the Oregon Motor Coach Center located off of Highway 99 via Beltline Highway on Airport Road. Oregon Motor Coach Center masters in Restoration, Renovation, and Service and is the premier motor coach facility in the entire West Coast.

So come join us for an evening full of quality entertainment on one of the most prestigious facilities in the country. It will be a new year in which anything can happen and we want you to not miss a minute of the action. Be sure to pack warm clothes and a blanket as the first few weeks have some cold weather occur once the sun goes down.
