INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — Ed Carpenter, of Sarah Fisher Racing (SFR), clocked his fastest lap of the month so far Friday afternoon, in his No. 67 Dollar General Honda powered Dallara at 228.017 mph, in preparation for tomorrow's qualifying run. The 30-year old from Indianapolis, Indiana turned 88 laps on a sun splashed day of practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). Carpenter's speed was good enough for 6th quick on the speed charts.
Ed Carpenter: "Overall, today was another productive day for us. We went in to Fast Friday with a game plan and we stuck to it. We were able to do some mock qualifying runs early this afternoon and also worked on race set up a bit this evening. The car felt good out there, it's pretty consistent. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the Dollar General machine can do tomorrow in qualifying."
