PLACERVILLE, California — Once again Mother Nature is taking its toll on the auto racing community in El Dorado County. Due to the forecast of rain moving into the area over the next 48 hours, Saturday’s championship point race at Placerville Speedway has been officially cancelled by the management of Handy Racing Promotions.
Racing will return to Placerville Speedway in just a few days as the facility is slated to host the popular Wild Winged Wednesday event next week, June 8th. This event will feature the top 360 sprint car teams from throughout Northern California in round five of the Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Sprint Car Series. Due to the mid week scheduling, additional teams are expected to join the regular roster that will include well over 30 winged sprint cars in an event that pays $2000 to the winner and brings a great deal of on the edge of your seat excitement to the fans.
The grandstands of Placerville Speedway will open at 5 p.m. on Wednesday night. Adult tickets will be $16. Seniors will be $14, Juniors $12 and Children will be $6. For further information on this event visit www.placervillespeedway.com or www.civilwarsprints.com.
