MODESTO, California — Mike David of Salida, CA will be making his 2011 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series debut this Saturday night at Stockton 99 Speedway. David, the 2007 NASCAR K&N Pro Series champion, will be driving for SRL championship car owner, Bob Strandwold in the Approved Memory/Heritage Cattle Company sponsored #1 Chevrolet, with crew chief Jeff Strandwold.
“Mike will be driving in both Stockton races for us this year, with the support of Dave Reed (Approved Memory) and John Gomez (Heritage Cattle Company),” stated Bob Strandwold. “Dave has been a longtime business partner in my racing and John partnered with us last year to win the championship, so we really appreciate them stepping up to support our team at both the Stockton events.”
Mike David finished fourth driving the Bob Strandwold Racing #3 in his only SRL appearance of 2010, and is looking forward to this weekend’s “Mid Valley Iron & Metals 150”.
“Stockton is of course one of my favorite tracks, and there’s nothing better than driving a ‘Tour Car’ at Stockton 99,” stated David. “I appreciate Bob for giving me the opportunity to drive his car and a sincere thanks to Dave (Reed) and John Gomez for their support in making the deal happen for us.”
Friday will be an open test for the SRL teams, followed Saturday with the “Mid Valley Iron and Metals 150”.
