MONROE, Washington — On Saturday June 25 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA, Pierre’s Polaris presents the Beacon Plumbing Weekly Racing Series featuring the Rory Price Memorial for the American Speed Association Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association (ASA NSRA) plus race number two of the Big West Series for open motored Speedway Chevrolet NASCAR Whelen All American Series Super Late Models in Twin 50’s. Both series are on the BIG 5/8-mile paved oval. The Foster Press NASCAR Mini-Stocks and Cub Scouts of America Mt. Baker Council Hornets divisions are back in action. The super fast racing gets underway at 6pm.

The traveling ASA NSRA makes its third stop of the 2011 championship season at Evergreen for the 6th running of the prestigious Rory Price Memorial. The race will bring a large field requiring the top four in points to utilize all their talents in driving and car preparation by their teams to win or at least finish well.

There is a tie for the title between 2008- 09 champion Matt Hein and teenage sensation Sierra Jackson. Just 8-points behind is 2010 champion Andy Alberding with 2006 champion Jeff Montgomery just 20-points out of the lead.

Evergreen Speedway is the longest racetrack these drivers will see during the 2011 Championship season at over five-eighths mile in length with 8-degree banked turns. In addition, with a much larger than normal purse for the winner a substantially larger field of cars are expected to compete. Over thirty winged sprint cars are anticipated for the Rory Price Memorial. The winged sprint car is the fastest type of race car ever on Evergreens Monster BIG Track.

The Rory Price Memorial has become one of the most anticipated events on the ASA/NSRA calendar with a substantial payout to the drivers plus many contingency prizes for the competitors. Rory Price holds a special place in the hearts of many northwest open wheel competitors thus attracting so many quality cars for this race.

Big West Series race #2 for the open motored, restrictor plated and crate Super Late Model stock cars is drawing the best northwest drivers to the BIG Track. After the first race point’s leader for the first ever champion is past speedway season champion Naima Lang who holds a slim 1-point edge over WSU student Daniel Moore. Another former regular season champion Shane Harding is in third just 19-points back.

Over twenty drivers and teams are expected for the twin 50-lap features on the BIG Track. Included with the previous mentioned super late model drivers add other hopefuls such as: Kelly Mann, Jeff Knight, Tom Hughs, Jason Fraser, Mark Sundberg, Mike Holden, Alex Kerslake, Billy Weber, Tyler Tanner, Tim McDougald, Tommy Rasmussen, Travis Blackwood, Jon Hubbard, Fred Hall, Andy Sole, Michael Prudnick, Donnie Wanat and John Hughs are all ready to challenge the track, that many call ‘all most too tough to tame.’

The chase to the Foster Press NASCAR Mini-Stock division season championship continues with another 20+ car field expected. Current leader of the pack for the title is Scott LaCross with last season champion Kris Harriss in second and former champ Steve Green in third. Their main event will be on the banked 3/8-mile oval.

Cub Scouts of America Hornet division always draws 30+ cars. Point leader Troy Johnson has a 17-point margin on Cyril Greenawalt. Jamie Corbett is third. The 4-cylinder division races on the 1/5-mile oval and or the road course.
