CHRIS EVANS AND TOMY DRISSI HEADING TO PORTLAND WITH BMR

ANTELOPE, California — Bill McAnally Racing will field two additional entries for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West “Bi-Mart Salute to the Troops 125” at Portland International Raceway.

"Tickets to the July 23-24 Bi-Mart Salute to the Troops “125” are on sale at local Bi-Mart stores and available at the gate during the weekend. All grandstands are free and open, with free parking outside the front gates.--portlandnascar.com"

Driving the No. 99 GASS/Bi-Mart Toyota Camry will be the owner of the GASS (Great American Stockcar Series) Chris Evans. This will be his first career start in the NKNP West Series. His resume as a racer includes starts in the former NASCAR Elite Divisions, the Northwest and Southwest Tour as well as the Historic Stock Car Racing Series (HSCRS). He will be wearing many hats this weekend as he is also the promoter for the event at PIR.

“A long as we have all our ‘ducks in a row’ this weekend’s racing is going to be a lot of fun,” said Evans. “This is our third year promoting this event. We are excited to have the GASS Series not only on the No. 99 Toyota but as a support series to the West Series race. GASS is a great series that is getting recognized more and more thru these companion races as well as our exposure thru GASSTV.com and Fox Sports Net.”

Driving the No. 12 “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” Toyota Camry will be Tomy Drissi. He is the 2009 Trans Am Champion. His resume includes over 90 Trans-Am starts as well as the ALMS and the Speed World Challenge. He has wins that include the Long Beach Grand Prix, the New Jersey Grand Prix and the Portland Grand Prix. This will also be his NASCAR West debut. He finished 18th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race last year in Montreal.

“Driving the No. 12 Toyota Camry for a team the caliber of BMR is a wonderful opportunity,” said Drissi. “It’s all about seat time. The fact that I’ve raced at Portland a few times might give me a little advantage but the lack of seat time in a NASCAR stock car is sure a big disadvantage. It’s a huge help to me as a stock car driver to be able to race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event. I will be racing in the NNS race later this season at Watkins Glen and return to Montreal.”

“Sometimes the day belongs to another team and sometimes it belongs to me. I am hoping that this Sunday is my day and my team’s day and we have a great race.”

The Bi-Mart Salute to the Troops “125” is a two day event with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West teams qualifying and racing on Sunday July 24th. Great seats are still available. Tickets to the July 23-24 Bi-Mart Salute to the Troops “125” are on sale at local Bi-Mart stores and available at the gate during the weekend. All grandstands are free and open, with free parking outside the front gates. For all the events and info go to www.portlandnascar.com.
