SANTEE, California — After a stout victory at the May race at Irwindale, Darren Young returns to the TOYOTA Speedway with the strong support of the “Up Front Motorsports” team. Both Darren Young and Jeff Catlin travel all the way from Arizona to have Scott Franchimone, owner of Up Front Motorsports, prepare and set-up their fast ASA Trucks to attempt another one-two finish. Both drivers of Young’s #12 H&R Springs, K&N Filters truck and Catlin’s #1 Barrett Jackson Auto Auction Chevy Colorado’s are veterans of the series and really demonstrated their experience and talent at the last event, but don’t underestimate the strength of the up and coming drivers that will challenge Young for the victory.
Point leader Taylor Miinch and teammate Cameron Jocelyn will have the backing of ATK Motorsports with their own expertise of Kevin Smith and Dallas Lineigar working hard at the shop all week. Miinch has a victory under his belt this season and sees a championship in his sights. ATK Motorsports would like another victory and was seen testing some new drivers last week to possibly join the team. Mike Herda is another driver who is backed by the strong group of United Nissan and Lee Keach and hopes to have one of their fast, black Chevy Colorado’s take back a trophy to Las Vegas. Visit www.asatruckseries.com for all the latest news, points, results and facebook link to follow the series and see which team or driver leaves Irwindale with the trophy this Saturday night, July 30th at TOYOTA Speedway.
Anyone can finish ‘up front’ this week with talented drivers like Jeremiah Wagner, Jason Black, Branden Underwood, and Shawn Steele scheduled to travel to Irwindale. We hope to have clean, three-wide racing like we had last race with Jason Black, Ryan Partridge and Race Liberante swapping spots for 50 laps of green. Saturday night is also a great opportunity for Jeff Barrister, Logan Mainella and a veteran of the series, Joe Farre, to show the fans an exciting race. Come out to the autograph session at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale on July 30th and the meet the drivers of the ASA Truck Series.
