Source: AC Motorsports
"Gentlemen start your engines" is not unfamiliar to Austin Cameron. He has heard those famous words of motorsports over four hundred times in his racing career. This weekend at the California Speedway he will be racing in the NCTS last race of the 1999 season. This is Cameron's third NCTS race of his career. After finishing 14th in the Orleans 250 at LVMS on September 24 he said "Getting use to the aero- dynamics of a truck like taking the training wheels off a bike; the idea is the same you just have to get use to the feel." Cameron is currently running 2nd in points in the NWWS going into the last race in Motegi, Japan. Larry Collie the Team Manager "The pressure is on all of us, going to another country for a points race with no back car, being 2nd in points. We're feeling the pressure to perform." Cameron who has been known for working great under pressure say's " Going to Japan is exciting, the Super Speedways always offer a great show for the fans." He goes on to say "The points race is closing in and we're going to give it everything we got." Austin Cameron will be driving the #4 Dupont Stainmaster Chevy truck owned by Tim Buckley this weekend at the California Speedway. Looking for a top ten finish Cameron say's "I'm going to push myself and the truck to the limits." If it's true the third time is a charm then Cameron could well be on his way to a top ten finish, as well as a NWWS Championship is Japan. The NWWS final race will be televised on December 11 during prime time.
