RANDY CELIA TAKES FIRST SEASON WIN AND JIMMY WATERS CLAIMS BACK-TO-BACK FEATURE WINS AT ROCKY MOUNTAIN RACEWAYS

West Valley City, Utah-August 6, 2011. #44 Maverik Modified racer Randy Celia secured his first win of the 2011 season last Saturday night at Rocky Mountain Raceways’ America First Credit Union Super Oval, an ASA Member Track.

After starting mid-field, Celia steadily made his way to the front of the pack challenging front runners #79 Jeffrey Webster and #50 Roger Wilson. The checkered flag flew with Celia crossing the finish line ahead of #50 Roger Wilson in second, #01 Michael Hale in third, #29 Zachary Webster in fourth and #00 Tyler Whetstone in fifth.

In the USAC Young Automotive Group Sprint series, #24 Jimmy Waters claimed his second Sprint Car win in two weeks; winning last Saturday, July 30. #43 Ray Bergener started the race in first but was passed by #75 Paul Marconi in lap 7; who went on to lead the next eleven laps holding off Waters.

With 7 to go, Waters drove hard passing Marconi for the victory. Marconi finished in a close second, followed by #36 Ryan Burdett in third, #89 Eric Barlow in fourth and #36x Austin Luttmer in fifth.

Tonight’s winners include: # 44 Randy Celia (Maverik Modifieds,) #24 Jim Waters (USAC YAG Sprints,) #9 Kori Combs (Mini Cups,) #70 Tracy Eaton (Figure-8 Cars,) # 33 Intimidator (Western States Equipment Figure-8 Trains.)

ASA Weekly Racing on the America First Credit Union Super Oval will continue on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14 with the Maverik Clash of the Titans XV monster truck event. Maverik Modifieds and Super Stocks will run on Saturday, August 13. USAC Young Automotive Group Sprints and Super Stocks will run on Sunday, August 14.
