STOCKTON, California — This coming Saturday, August 13th, is the 3rd Annual Race and Ride for Autism. The event will be held at the New Stockton 99 Speedway in Stockton California. Carlos Vieira Racing, together with 51 FIFTY Energy Drink has joined up with the 2009 NASCAR Whelen All American Series National Rookie of the Year Jacob Gomes.
Currently 18 years old, Jacob has shown to be one of the stars that will shine all the way up to the cup series. At present Jacob drives full time in the SRL Tour Series. Last year he was rookie of the year in the SRL series and this year he is currently 1st in points. Owner of Carlos Vieira Racing, Carlos Vieira is excited to have Jacob Racing for Autism. “Any winnings from both of our cars will be donated to the Carlos Vieira Foundation that helps families living with Autism”. Carlos also will be driving one of his Race for Autism cars that night. Last year Carlos finished 3rd and his other car piloted by Mike David finished 1st. The other podium finish at last year’s Race for Autism was Jacob Gomes, finishing 2nd but he had to make his way all the way from the rear because he took the challenge of starting in the back and winning with a bonus of $500.
Jacob is definitely looking forward to this race. “It feels good to be doing something for a great cause. The opportunity that Carlos is giving me allows me the chance to raise money for such a great cause and to also show my support for Autism Awareness”. This race pays $3000 to win, with a $300 dash for cash, a $100 fastest qualifier plus $400 for starting in the back and winning the race. Jacob has the talent to win $3800 which would all be donated to help families living with Autism.
Come see this race and show your support for Autism. The more fans that come, the more money we will raise for Autism. If you have a motorcycle then also join us on our poker run that leaves the Carlos Vieira Racing shop in Livingston and ends at the track.
