KWASNIEWSKI NABS SECOND K&N WEST WIN

KALISPELL, Montana — It took Dylan Kwasniewski 10 races to pick up his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series West victory. The second came just eight days later by winning the Toyota/TTC 150 on Saturday night at Montana Raceway Park.

"Two victories in 8 days for 16-year-old"

Kwasniewski became the youngest winner in NASCAR K&N Pro Series at just over 16 years of age on Aug. 6 at Colorado National Speedway and he didn’t waste any time in returning to Victory Lane. The youngster out of Las Vegas, Nev., took the lead from teammate Greg Pursley on Lap 52 and just had to stay clear of lapped traffic on the cozy quarter-mile track in his No. 03 Rockstar/Royal Purple Ford.

Cameron Hayley, out of Calgary, Alberta, making his series debut finished in the runner-up position. In the process, he became the youngest competitor in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West history at just over 15 years of age. The previous mark was held by Kwasniewski.

Defending series and race champion Eric Holmes came home in the third position followed by points leader Greg Pursley in fourth. Michael Self closed out the top five.

Brett Thompson, Michael Waltrip, Ben Kennedy, Carl Harr and Moses Smith rounded out the top 10.

In a special engagement, Waltrip, a two-time winner of the Daytona 500, made his fifth career NASCAR K&N Pro Series West start.

Earlier in the day in time trials, Pursley won his fifth Coors Light Pole Award of the season.

The Toyota/TTC 150 from Montana Raceway Park will air on SPEED on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 3 p.m. PT.

The next event on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West schedule will be at Spokane County Raceway in Airway Heights, Wash., on Saturday, Sept. 3.
