SONOMA, California — Nearly $10,000 was raised for the Sonoma Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities at the INDYCAR Charity Auction held at the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma.

The charity auction, which was held this past Sunday at Infineon Raceway, generated $9,500, which will benefit qualified youth groups in Sonoma County. Speedway Children’s Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway, has distributed more than $3.7 million to qualified youth groups in Sonoma County since 2002.
The auction featured one-of-a-kind signed memorabilia, as well as the ability for race fans to take a lap around the world-famous road course with their favorite INDYCAR driver during pre-race ceremonies. Dario Franchitti was the top-selling driver, going for $725.
The top item of the auction was a framed INDYCAR picture that was signed by all of the drivers. The picture went for $1,700.
