LAKE STEVENS, Wa — A productive weekend of racing has the Shaylen Raye Motorsports team and driver Travis Jacobson ready to take on the World of Outlaws this weekend. On Friday night last week the team travelled to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, WA for night one of the Big E Weekend. A late race pass from multi-time ASCS Champion Roger Crockett late in the race placed the #18 car in second position at the checkered flag.
On Saturday night at Skagit Speedway both the 410 and 360 sprint cars were in action. Travis set fast time in the 410 setting the tone for a great night. Jesse Whitney had his 410 just perfect and other than a few forays underneath the defending Skagit 410 Champion Travis settled for another second place finish. Once again doing double duty in both race cars paid off with Travis finishing second in the 360 car. A late race skirmish with another car while racing for the lead left the team with a less than pleasant outlook on the weekend. As driver Travis Jacobson and team owner Mike Anderson both said, “Three seconds is still a decent weekend for any race team. We were in a position to win all three main events and set two fast times. We’ll take it but we are here for wins.”
This weekend, the Shaylen Raye Motorsports team tackles the World of Outlaws travelling 410 sprint car group at Skagit Speedway. The world’s best 410 drivers are hard to beat but with the success of the #18 car in 2011 and the home track advantage, this could be the year you hear of a local car taking home the lion’s share of the money on Outlaw Weekend. Come root Travis and the team on to victory.
