Madera, Calif. (July 28, 2001) Jason Fensler of Wilton Calif. picked up his first career Bud Pole Award in Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring competition tonight as he debut his new Moore & Grider Co. Chevrolet. Fensler tripped the clock with a time of 14.185/84.596 mph, just one tenth off Lance Hooper's 1995 record mark of 13.910. The rest of the top ten in qualifying are Craig Raudman, Mark Reed, Burney Lamar, Darrell LaMoure, Auggie Vidovich Jr. Vidovich will start on the pole by virtue of a six invert.
Vince Little of Clovis, Calif. won the Non-Qualifiers race and will start 21st in the 125-lap feature. Also transferring is Ken Boyd of Ceres, Calif.![]()
