After luck of the draw put B Main winner Bobby Scott Jr. on the front row for the $26,000 Winter Chevrolet 100, he proceeded to lead every lap for the impressive victory Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. The win paid 2000 Watsonville champion Scott $6,000 aboard his Scott's Auto Body sponsored Harris Modified. After J.D. Willis got a flat tire on the last lap, Kenny Neu slipped by for a $3,000 second in his West Coast Motorsports sponsored Cobra Modified. Bert Elworthy continued his strong post season efforts with a $2,000 third aboard his Lightning Products Harris Modified. Willis settled for a $1,600 fourth with Medford, Oregon champion Mark Wauge a $1,200 fifth.

Giving everybody a preview of what was to come, Scott led every lap to win the 25 lap B Main. Then, 20 lucky young fans got to draw for the starting lineup. Scott ended up on the pole next to Kenny Neu for the main event on the well-prepared quarter-mile clay oval. Scott led Brian Cass and Neu through a couple early yellow flags. With only four laps complete, Scott Busby, Bart Reid, Dennis Furia Sr. and Dave Byrd were all eliminated from contention. Willis rode the outside line into second on the lap five restart, and a lap nine caution flag flew for Gus Cooper. Scott led Willis, Neu, Cass and Joe Carr on the restart. Cass and 17th starter Randy McDaniel settled into fourth and fifth just before a lap 31 caution flag flew for debris on the track. Scott led this restart, and McDaniel moved into fourth behind Scott, Willis and Neu on a restart a lap later. A low pass in Turn 2 of the 34th lap put McDaniel into third. Neu spun for a lap 36 caution flag.

The first restart attempt saw McDaniel blow a motor to end his strong run. Scott led Willis and Chad Chadwick on the next restart. Cass and Elworthy dropped Chadwick back to fifth on a lap 41 restart. At the conclusion of 50 laps, Scott led Willis, Cass, Elworthy, Chadwick, Carr and Neu, all on the lead lap. David Soito Jr., Wauge and Roger Lorenzini Jr. rounded out the top ten a lap down.

After a brief break to allow repairs snd refueling, the drivers returned for the second 50 lap segment. As with all his restarts, Scott stayed on the high side and led Willis and Elworthy. An outside move on the back stretch of the 58th lap gained Elworthy second, and a lap 60 caution flag flew Richard Papenhausen. Scott led Elworthy on the restart as Cass rode the high side into third. Willis reclaimed third from Cass on lap 72 as Neu was running fifth. Chadwick and Carr had both pitted to leave just five lead lap cars. A spin by Bobby Hogge III forced a lap 82 caution flag. On the restart lap, second place duelers Elworthy, Cass and Neu all crashed in Turn 3, eliminating Cass. Scott led Willis and Neu on the restart. Willis stayed within a few car-lengths of Scott the rest of the way until his costly flat tire on the last lap. Scott brought it home a happy winner ahead of Neu, Elworthy and Willis. Wauge, Lorenzini, Chadwick, Don Shelton, Cass and Bobby Hogge IV rounded out the top ten, all laps down.

Phil Indihar led the first 13 laps of the 20 lap C Main before losing the lead to eventual winner Mark Abouzeid. Indihar settled for second ahead of Jeff Thomas, Nick Caughman Jr. and Mark Garner. Scott led flag to flag to win the 25 lap B Main ahead of race long second Bob Newberry, Dave Byrd, Mark Wauge and Bart Reid.
