LAS VEGAS – The NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series is scheduled to run a rare afternoon show at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this Sunday.
The StarNursery.com 250 has a tentative entry list of 41 competitors. Full-time NASCAR Winston West driver Mark Reed is on the roster for Sunday’s race and is the defending champion of the event. In fact, Reed won both NASCAR-sanctioned events on the Bullring, having won the NAPA 300 Winston West race on March 1.
Points leader M K Kanke and Troy Adams, the only African-American driver in the series, also are scheduled to compete.
NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Grand American Modifieds (30-lap feature) and the Ultra Wheels Super Trucks (75-lap feature) also are scheduled to race.
This event marks the first of two visits to LVMS this season. The Southwest Series will return to LVMS on Oct. 13 for a 67-lap race on the 1.5-mile superspeedway.
Spectator gates open at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Racing begins at 10:30 a.m. and the Southwest Series main event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Admission is $18 adults, $15 senior/military, $5 children six through 12 and children 5 and under are free. Tickets are available at the gate or through the LVMS ticket office at (800) 644-4444.
