BAKERSFIELD, CA -- After four races of the 1.3 million dollar NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Mesa Marin Raceway, four different drivers have claimed victory in Late Model Stock Cars competition. Compared to the 2000 racing season which saw only five winners all year, this race season at Mesa Marin has proved to be most competitive in the Late Model division. Three-time champion Kevin Vernon struck first winning at the season opening event on March 18, with Mike Duncan, point leader Dan Holtz and the youngster Brandon Miller each having a turn in the winner’s circle the following weeks.

"It’s been the most competitive early season we have seen in many years." stated Mesa Marin Raceway General Manager, Larry Collins.

"Last race was the best race I have ever watched, at any racetrack, so I am looking forward to seeing what happens tomorrow night." Collins added.

All the previous winner’s will be back in action, along with other drivers looking to make it five different drivers for the year including former Irwindale Speedway champion Rod Johnson, Gary Collins, Rick Grissom, Bobby Aldridge and Kevin Thompson.

Joining the NASCAR Late Model Stock Cars tomorrow night will be Limited Late Models, and Street Stocks. Plus the 911 Race for Youth Series and the Jim Russell Racing School Series will also compete.

Gates open at 5:00pm, qualifying at 5:30pm, with racing underway at 7:30pm. Adult tickets $9.00, with children 12 and under admitted free.
