Las Vegas…Having assumed the point lead in this year's NASCAR Winston West chase, Brendan Gaughan has now set his sights on putting his Number 41 Target Saws and Blades/Napa-sponsored Dodge Ram in Victory Circle, August 18 at Chicago Motor Speedway.

Running for Texas-based TKO Motorsports, the Sears Craftsman 175 will mark Gaughan's fourth NASCAR Craftsman Truck appearance so far this season. "We took a third at Mesa Marin in Bakersfield, Calif., and a second at Texas Motor Speedway," explains the popular Las Vegas native. "We'd definitely like another podium finish."

One of the fastest rising stars in NASCAR today, Gaughan has more than proven his behind-the-wheel ability. The current reigning Winston West champion, this former Georgetown basketball player currently holds a 32 point lead on the rest of the field and has every intention of wrapping up his second championship this season. "Our game plan for this year is to again take the title," explains Gaughan. "And, then turn it up a notch for next year."

Turning it up a notch is something that Gaughan is well versed in. Beginning his career in the rough world of off-road racing, he actually began competing before he had a driver's licence. Starting with buggies and moving up to full-sized trucks, Gaughan earned numerous wins and five championships prior to making the transition from desert to pavement. "I've always loved racing trucks," he smiles "I definitely feel at home behind the wheel and even better, they are the most fun to drive."

"I'm really looking forward to competing at Chicago Motor Speedway," he continues. "While I've never actually raced there, I've logged a lot of laps with the Richard Petty Driving Experience so I think we can hit our mark without too much problem."

In addition to flying the Target Saws and Blades and NAPA banners, Gaughan will also showcase Sportsman's Park's colors. "It is a real honor to have three great sponsors for this race," says Gaughan with obvious pride and conviction. Their faith in me definitely serves to spur me on to do really well."

Qualifying for the Sears Craftsman 175 takes place on Friday, August 17 at 3:00 P.M., with racers taking the Green Flag on Saturday, August 18 at 5:00 P.M. ESPN will carry the race live at 5:00 P.M. ET.####
