The Street Stock division’s main event was plagued with yellows tonight but in the end it was 16 year old Rookie, Jared Alseth who took the win and trophy for his first win of the season here at Evergreen Speedway. Jared had the pole position and managed to hold a very strong lead throughout the 25 lap main event tonight. The action was behind him as all the points leaders started at the back of the pack and were continuously trying to gain positions to get to the front.

The first yellow came on lap 6 when the #04 and #05 lost control on the back stretch and were sent to the back of the pack. The #10 car of Dave Lund, current points leader, and the #91 car of Gary Flammang, 2nd in points currently, were running bumper to bumper with both trying to gain positions. Victor Fort (#38 and 3rd in the points standings) was moving in closer on every lap and was soon door to door with Flammang By lap 13 all three points leaders were neck and neck jostling for position. In lap 22 Mathew Alexander in the #88 spun out on the back stretch which caused the #20 of Tom Ochiltree to hit him and both were sent to the back. The positioning stayed pretty much the same for several laps with Alseth leading, Bill O’Brien holding 2nd place with Brad Sweeney in 3rd and Ron Landry maintaining 4th and this is where Gary Flammang and Dave Lund were holding 5th and 6th. This lineup was status quo from lap 13 to lap 23 when Lund started pouring it on and moving in. He managed to gain enough positions to take 2nd across the finish line with Kevin Brown (#82) placing 3rd, Gary Flammang (#91) in 4th and Ron Landry (#46) taking 5th place. Todd Simonson (#07) took the Trophy Dash win tonight.####
