Madera Speedway welcomes back the SuperModified Racing League’s Wild West Series this Saturday August 11th. Featuredon the 11th will be the SRL Late Models in their 100-lap feature,the SRL Lites and Trucks, and the Pro-4s and Pro-4 Trucks.
Ticket prices are: $15.00 for adults, $7.00 for children6-12, $37.00 for the family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) and as always,children 5 and under are free. Grandstands open at 3:00 PM and racing starts at6:00 PM.
Series points leader Nathan Tucker hopes that his luckcontinues at Madera Speedway, as he attempts to win his third main event win ofthe season at Madera. Ray Lawson Jr, is also looking for his third main eventwin at Madera this year. Ken Boyd still stands in second place without afeature win this season. Ray Lawson still holds onto third place with his twofeature wins at Madera this year. Chad Nichols, who won his first main event injust over five starts in a late model last time out at Madera currently isfifth in points.
The SRL Lites hope to have a strong field of cars thisweekend that will hopefully outnumber their record 12 cars of last race. JimmyTartaglia and Rich Denman both will return to Madera after racing in theTriguerio Classic last Friday. Roger Gallaeno leads the points with his carthat is powered by a two-barrel carburetor. Donnie Large is second in points inhis injected car, Al Harney, who fields a winged sprint car is third in points,followed by AJ Burgin and Jim Birges.
Donnie Large still leads the SRL Trucks points standings.His points lead over Chris Smith was only lengthened after his convincing winlast Friday. Marty Wagner currently sits in third, followed by Nathan Kircherand Rick Thompson.
In other news, John Johnson leads in the Pro-4 points withGreg Stefani in second and in the Mini Trucks, Tim Fernandez Jr. gains thepoints lead from Mike Sims after winning the last two races.
