The NASCAR Weekly Racing Series was in full swing Saturday at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with seven feature races.

Rookie Kyle Busch captured his ninth NASCAR Late Model win of the season. Busch, who was fastest qualifier, started 12th based on the 12-car invert system. Ken Holt gained an early lead in the 40-lap main event. Holt was challenged by Brandon Whitt of El Cajon, Calif., and Rich Attisani. By the eighth lap, Busch was third behind Attisani and Holt. The three-car cluster raced three-wide for the lead. Busch took the lead on lap 25 and was able to maintain it to the checkered flag. Attisani was second, followed by Whitt, Holt and Darren Michels. Rookie Jason Allen, who was involved in a mishap on lap one, finished 23rd after returning to the field late in the race.

"I want to thank all the fans. They do a great job," Busch said. "This is a great facility and I really like running here."

Darren Michaels won the NASCAR Late Model $100-to-win Racer's Supply Fast Dash.

In final points races of the season, Glenn Burke and Mike Haslam collected victories in the Outlaw Stock division. Burke captured his 11th win in the first 25-lap main event. Pat Petrie Jr was fourth and Richard Kerr fifth. Saturday marked the final Outlaw Stocks race of the season. Pat Petrie Jr. captured the 2001 Outlaw Stock championship.

"I am definitely pleased," Petrie said. "My dad coached me through it. He has raced a long time. This is my first (championship). Hopefully next week my dad will get his (in the Charger division)."
