The men and women who serve our country were recognized in a ceremony and track champions were crowned at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday night.

A special patriotic ceremony was dedicated to the men and women of our military, police and fire departments.

Rookie Kyle Busch captured his 10th NASCAR Late Model win of the season. Busch, who started on the pole position, led the entire race with Ray Hooper Jr. and Jason Allen behind. Allen took over the second position at the halfway mark. He battled to catch Busch , but was unsuccessful. Allen finished second followed by Hooper, Steve Anderson and Chuck Trickle.

"It was a great win for us, its number 10 out of 15," Busch said. "We really had a great run. We made a lot of changes from the heat race to the main (event) and they all worked."

"We were trying to catch Kyle, but we couldn't catch him at the end," Allen said.

Although Allen finished second, he was crowned NASCAR Late Model track champion and Rookie-of-the-Year.

"We had an awesome race car. Our main goal was to finish," Allen said. " Our goal at the beginning of the year was to win Rookie-of-the-Year, the July 3 race and the championship. We got all of them accomplished. We had a game plan and stuck to it. It feels pretty good."

Ray Hooper Jr. won the NASCAR Late Model $100-to-win Racer's Supply Fast Dash. NASCAR Late Model results are unofficial pending post-race technical inspection.

In the final Grand American Modified points race of the season, Fabian Bray took the checkered flag marking his fourth victory of the season. Doug Hamm finished second, followed by Sonny Boeckman, Jerry Walton and Charlie Wahl.

Bray, the Bullring's 2000 track champion, captured his second consecutive Grand American Modified championship. In final point standings, Bray and Hamm finished in a dead heat. Bray was crowned track champion based on winning more main events in the season (Bray four, Hamm three).

"We had a good run and the best car won," Hamm said. "He's (Bray) the man."

"Doug is a very good competitor; it was a good race. As far as I'm concerned, Doug is still a champion. He is a good hard driver," Bray said. "We've had our ups and downs. My family and friends helped me out. This is great, I couldn't be happier."

Pat Petrie Sr., who recovered from a heart attack suffered at the track last year and was able to return to competition, clinched the Charger championship. Petrie collected his first win Saturday night, followed by Tom Youmans, Don Sargent, Guy Griebel and Reyes Valenzula.

"If it wasn't for this track, I wouldn't be here. They gave it (life) back to me," Petrie said. "It was good. Everything worked out great. It is the best night of the year. "It's special," said Petrie, whose son Pat Petrie Jr. captured the first Outlaw Stock championship last week.

Spencer Clark clinched the Hitchin' Post/Exiss Legends championship prior to the main event Saturday night. However, Ryan Foster of Anderson, Calif., and Kyle Busch challenged the 14-year-old. The three-car cluster raced side-by-side. In the end, Clark took the checkered flag followed by Foster, Busch, TJ Clark, and John Burritt.

"It was an outstanding year for me," Clark said. " Competition was really high; Kyle stepped it up a lot. I feel really good."

In Bandolero action, Joey Mogar captured his third win of the season and the championship over Alex Haase, who has six wins.

"I just tried to drive hard and keep in front of Alex Haase so I could win the points championship," Mogar said. "I was competitive with Alex Haase. He's been really good this year. I feel good, really good."
