80+ Cars Entered for the Featherlite Fall Jamboree Big Payout Race

Featherlite Fall Jamboree kicks off Wednesday at Deer Creek Speedway

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (Sept. 19) – The undisputed marquee event for America’s most talented Modified drivers on dirt kicks off this Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., with practice night for the 13th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree.

With nearly $200,000 in posted awards for the event, this year’s blockbuster event will see a record payoff for several drivers.

Drivers may still get entered today for the early bird entry fee of just $200 by calling the USMTS office at 515-832-7944. After today, the entry fee is $250 and at the gate on race day the price is $300. Competitors may also pre-enter for single days.

Early bird race fans can get a free preview of the action Wednesday night, and drivers will get their chance to make final adjustments to their machines with an open practice from 6-9 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m. with admission to the grandstands free for all.

Three complete shows are on tap for Thursday, Friday and Saturday with a whopping $15,000 to win over the course of three nights.

Thursday's main event carries a $3,000 top prize and pays a minimum of $450 to each of the 30 starters. Gates open at 3 p.m. and the first green flag waves at 6:30 p.m. The night will wind down with a karaoke party in the pits following the races.

On Friday, the USMTS Modifieds will compete in a feature race with $4,000 earmarked for the winner and $550 for each of the 30 starters. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the first green flag waves at 6:30. The day will kick off with the annual golf tournament in the morning. Fans, drivers, crews and families will put a lid on Friday’s festivities with the return of The Dweebs performing live on stage following the races.

Saturday's explosive finale will feature the hottest dirt Modified pilots in the nation battling for one of 30 spots in the main event that will take the green flag three-wide and ten rows deep. Drivers will battle for an $8,000 top prize and at least $900 just to take the green flag.

And if that wasn’t enough, Saturday’s non-qualifiers will have a chance at one of 30 spots in the annual Non-Qualifiers Race, which carries a $2,000 top prize and pays $400 to start ... that’s more than most “big” Modified races pay to win their main event.

Past Featherlite Fall Jamboree champions include Ron Jones (1999), Johnny Saathoff (2000), Willy Kraft (2001), Mark Noble (2002), Dan Daniels (2003), Kelly Shryock (2004), Chad Kinder (2006), Dean Mahlstedt (2007), Tim Donlinger (2008) and Jason Hughes (2005, ’09, ’10).
