DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — It is the final weekend for the 2011 Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track National Championship. Havasu 95 Speedway will open their 2011-12 season while many ASA Member Tracks and Series will be in action. Some will be crowning their champions.
Here is a look at what is happening this weekend.
ASA SANCTIONED SERIES
Firebird International Raceway (Chandler, AZ)
ASA's popular road course series will be back in action this weekend at Firebird International Raceway. Close to 250 cars will be competing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Grandstand admission is FREE.
ASA IRA SPRINT CAR SERIES
Wilmot Raceway (Wilmot, WI)
The fast 410-winged sprints will be competing in their second to last event this Saturday night at Wilmot Raceway. Billy Balog continues to lead Mike Reinke in the standings.
ASA NORTHWEST SPRINT CAR RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CAR SERIES
Douglas County Speedway (Roseburg, OR)
It is the championship event for the fast asphalt winged sprint cars this Saturday night. Sierra Jackson comes into the season finale with a 37-point lead over Matt Hein and a 41-point lead over Andy Alberding.
ASA MIDWEST TRUCK TOUR
Madison International Speedway (Oregon, WI)
The fast Midwest Trucks will be part of the MIS’s Fall Classic weekend on Saturday night. Austin Luedtke comes into the second to last event with a four-point lead over Jerry Wood in the standings. John Wood is only 44-points behind in third.
ASA MEMBER TRACKS
ACE SPEEDWAY (Altamahaw, NC)
Championship Night begins this week at Ace Speedway with Friday Night Racing returning on September 23rd. In action this week will be the Dick Shirley Chevrolet Late Models with a 100-lap feature, the Ace Modifieds with Twin 20′s, the Street Stocks and Mini Trucks. Admission this week will be $12 for Adults, $8 for Students & Seniors with ID and free for kids 12 and under. For the Late Models it’s not just a Track Championship that’s on the line but also an ASA member track National Championship as both Beggarly and York are atop the National standings.
BIG COUNTRY SPEEDWAY (Cheyenne, WY)
The Showdown in Cheyenne is this Saturday night. Racing starts at 5pm. Adults are $9.00, Seniors are $7.00, Children 6-12 are $5.00 and children 5 and under are FREE!
CORPUS CHRISTI SPEEDWAY (Corpus Christi, TX)
Corpus Christi Speedway is not in action this weekend, but will return on October 1. Weekly adult admission is $10.00 with children 12 & under getting FREE admission. Gates open at 6:00pm with racing at 8:00pm.
DESOTO SUPER SPEEDWAY (Bradenton, FL)
The Race of Champions for the Open Wheel Modifieds is this Saturday night. Plus the Trucks, Mini Stocks, Rookie Trucks, Mod Minis, Flyin 4’s, Magic 4’s and Trophy Dash Cars will also be in action. Normal weekly admission and times are: Ages 13 & up is $15.00, ages 12 & under are FREE! Racing gets underway at 7:00pm SHARP!
DILLON MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Dillon, SC)
Our next race will be Saturday, September 24th. Late Models finish their season this weekend and Street Stocks will be racing for $500. Chargers, 4 Cylinders, Mini Cup Mod, Legends and 4 Cylinder Trucks will also be on track. Final points race for all local classes.Racing beings at 7pm.
EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK (Tampa, FL)
ASA sanctioned racing returns to East Bay Raceway Park on Saturday, September 24, 2011. The program will include Limited Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and the Old Time Mods. It will also be Autograph night for the Bombers at intermission. Weekly admission is: Adults are $12, Seniors 55 & up are $10.00, Teens 13-17 with ID is $7.00, and kids 12 & under are FREE with paying adult! Racing starts at 6:30pm.
HARTFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Hartford, MI)
Hartford Motor Speedway will be back in action on Friday, September 30.
HAVASU 95 SPEEDWAY (Lake Havasu City, AZ)
The 2011-12 season opener is this Saturday night. The Late Models, ASA Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, and the new Team Factory Stocks will be in action. Gates open at 5:00pm with Racing at 7pm.
I-25 SPEEDWAY (Pueblo, CO)
The season finale is this Saturday with Championship Night. The Grand American Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Charger Figure-8’s will be in action. Weekly times and admission are:Racing starts at 6:00pm. Adult admission is $10.00; Ages 4-12 is $5.00, kids 4 and under are FREE!
ILLIANA MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Schererville, IN)
Crash Fest #2 is this Saturday night. There will be Figure 8 Bus Races, Trailer Races, and Pure Stock specials. Gates open at 4:00pm with the first race at 7:00pm. General admission for ages 10 & up is $20 and Youth 9 and under is $10.00
INDE MOTORSPORTS RANCH (Wilcox, AZ)
The Inde Vintage Series will be competing on September 24-25.
LEBANON I-44 SPEEDWAY (Lebanon, MO)
The next big event will take place on Saturday, October 1 with the Fall Shootout. The Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, Road Warriors and Chargers will be in action.
LONESOME PINE RACEWAY (Coeburn, VA)
Crash-A-Rama will invade the Pine this Saturday night. There will be a $5,000 to win 4 & 6 cyl Enduro Race. Plus, Motorhome Demo Derby, Front Wheel Drive Car Demo Derby, Boat & Camper Trailer Race, Skidd Carz Race, and a Chain Race. Adults are $20, Children 7-12 are $5 and children 6 & under are FREE.
MERIDIAN SPEEDWAY (Meridian, ID)
The Idaho Amateur Supercross comes to Meridian Speedway on September 25. Racing will start at 9am. More info at www.idahosupercross.com.
NEWPORT MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Newport, TN)
Newport Motor Speedway will be back in action on October 8 with the First Annual Davey Crockett LMS Championship Race featuring a 200-lap feature in four 50-lap segments. The Street Stocks, FWD, Mod-4, Legends, and Mini Cups will also be in action.
ORANGE SHOW SPEEDWAY (San Bernardino, CA)
Orange Show Speedway will be back in action on Saturday, October 1. The Late Models, Super Stocks, Pony Stocks, Factory 4, and Stock Car USA will be in action. Gates open at 5:00pm with Racing at 7:00pm.
SHANGRI-LA II MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Tioga Center, NY)
The third annual Fall Brawl is scheduled for September 22 – 24. There will be Open Practice for all divisions competing in the Fall Brawl on Thursday September 22. Practice begins at 5:00 pm with free grandstand admission. Pit admission for practice is $ 15.00. The Sportsman, Street Stocks and EST Trucks will be in action on Friday September 23. Pit Gates on Friday open at 4:00pm, Grandstand Gates open and Practice begins at 5:30 pm. Racing gets the green flag at 7:00 pm. Saturday September 24 will see Modifieds, Latemodels, Legends and Four Cylinders in action. Pit Gates on Saturday will open at 2:00pm, Grandstand Gates open and Practice begins at 3:30 pm and the four-division show gets underway at 5:00 pm.
SKAGIT SPEEDWAY (Burlington, WA)
The Skagit Supercross Series continues the 7th of 8 rounds of action. See the exciting motorcycles and quads flying off jumps as they zig zag through the Supercross course. Racing at 1:00pm.
SOUTHERN OREGON SPEEDWAY (Medford, OR)
The Battle of the Border for the Late Models is this Friday and Saturday night. Plus, an Open Super 4’s event will be featured on both nights. Racing gets underway at 6pm. This is their final event for the 2011 season.
VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Jamaica, VA)
Championship night scheduled earlier this month will be this Saturday night. The Late Models, Sportsman, Modifieds, and Limited Stock Cars will be in action. Spectator gates open at 5pm with on-track activities starting at 6:30pm. Admission price for Adults $10, seniors (60+) $8; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $5, students 13 – 17 years old $7, children 7 to 12 $4 and children 6 and under admitted free. Pit passes will be $20.
WILMOT RACEWAY (Wilmot, WI)
The ASA IRA Outlaw Sprints will be in action this Saturday night. The Midwest SprintCar Association 360 Sprints and the 1200cc Mini Sprints will also be in action. First race is scheduled at 7:15pm.
YAKIMA SPEEDWAY (Yakima, WA)
The two-day 24th Annual Fall Classic will be on October 1-2.
