LAKE STEVENS, Washington — One weekend removed from claiming the owner and driver championships in the 360 Sprint division at Skagit Speedway the Shaylen Raye Motorsports #18 driven by Travis Jacobson raced with the ASCS Northwest 360 Sprints at Yakima State Fair Raceway in Yakima, WA during the Central Washington State Fair.
"Friday night started off gangbusters."
Friday night started off gangbusters with a win in the heat race and good luck on the pill re-draw for starting position in the main. Sharing the front row with veteran Jason Solwold; Travis got a great start and was running second late in the race before a chunk of something flew into the left front damaging suspension parts. The lap after saw Travis spinning in turn one. Travis clawed his way back to 16th to end the evening. On Saturday the team was in a big hole from the start with a 6th place finish in heat 2. A fifth place finish in the B main earned the team a transfer to the A main event but the deep on the grid starting position created havoc on the finisihing position. For the Saturday night Main event Travis would finish 11th.
Next up the team is tentatively slated to run the October 8th ISCS Western Nationals race at Cottage Grove before wrapping up the season at 18th annual Trophy Cup in Tulare, CA on October 21st and 22nd. At the time of this writing Trophy Cup already has 80 cars on the pre-entry list.
