
DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — It was a busy fall weekend of ASA Racing from coast-to-coast. History was made at some events and champions were crowned at others.
Here are the results from this past weekend.
ASA SANCTIONED SERIES
ASA MIDWEST TOUR (SUPER LATE MODELS, SPORTSMAN)
Rockford Speedway (Loves Park, IL)
Steve Carlson won his record tying eighth National Short Track Championship event on Sunday by winning the Budweiser 200. Carlson held off Jacob Goede and Nick Panitzke for the win. Carlson is now tied with the late great Joe Shear with the most NSTC victories at the famed quarter-mile oval. Andrew Morrissey holds a 68-point lead over Nathan Haseleu going into their season finale at Oktoberfest this weekend.
Doug Bennett was all set to battle with Matt Berger for the win in the ASA Midwest Sportsman Tour event on Saturday night. But Berger pulled into the pits as the field was coming to the green flag. Bennett assumed the lead and won the 40-lap event. Chris Marek claimed his second straight ASA Midwest Sportsman Tour championship.

ISCARS DASH TOURING SERIES SANCTIONED BY ASA
Hickory Motor Speedway (Hickory, NC)
It was a big weekend for Danny Bagwell as he won the final two events and once again became the series champion for America’s Premiere Stock Car Tuner Series. Bagwell held off Todd Hawkes and Jason Shultz to win the first 50-lap event. He then held Hawkes and Nick Martin to win the 100-lap event.

ASA IRA SPRINT CAR SERIES
Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway (Beaver Dam, WI)
Mark Dobmeier held off Brooke Tatnell and Mike Kertscher to win the A-Main this past Saturday night. Billy Balog finished fourth to secure the season championship.

ASA MEMBER TRACKS
ACE SPEEDWAY (Altamahaw, NC)
Fans were treated to twin features this past Friday night. Dillon Bassett and Boo Boo Dalton each picked up a Limited late Model feature win. A.J. Sanders and P-Nut Vernon were the winners in the Mini Stocks. Jerry Kernodle won both of the X-Treme car features. Bassett won the Limited Late Model championship while Sanders won in the Mini Stocks. Barry Wilson is the X-Treme car champion.

CORPUS CHRISTI SPEEDWAY (Corpus Christi, TX)
Joshua McCain picked up the win over Mike McCain in the Front Runners. Lee Vincent won in the Bombers. John Witzsche was the winner in the Super Streets. Anthony Monroe won in the Sport Mods and Dillon Mosley won in the Go Carts.

DESOTO SUPER SPEEDWAY (Bradenton, FL)
Duane Best held off Jimmie Best and Kyle Best to win the Bombers feature this past Saturday night. Glenn Kelley won in the Modified Minis. Bruce Carbone picked up another win in the Mini Stocks. Robert Campbell was the big winner in the Outlaw Modifieds. Dalton Ellis won in the Magic 4’s. Tommy Harper won in the Flyin 4’s. Jason Godwin took the checkers in the Trophy Dash and Robert Campbell won in the Cars of Yesterday.

EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK (Tampa, FL)
Roger Crouse picked up the Late Model win this past Saturday night as he went wire-to-wire in the main event. Crouse then did the same thing in the Limited Late Model feature as he pulled off the double for the night. Roberto Morfin Jr. won in the Outlaw 4’s. Collin Kruse picked up his first feature win in the Street Stocks. Patrick Fiore won the 4-Cylinder Bomber main event. Janien Dixon won her fifth Dirt Dauber main while her husband Bill Dixon finished third.

HARTFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Hartford, MI)
Jacob Poehl held off Ken Schrader to win the Michigan Dirt Cup on Saturday night. Curt Spalding held off Brian Ruhlman to win the Late Model main. On Sunday, Spalding made it two in a row as he held off Jon Henry for the win. Ruhlman won the UMP Modified main event. Ryan Disterheft won the Street Stock main and Robbie Sternberg won in the Pure Stocks.
2011 Track Champions are: Phil Ausra – UMP Late Models, Frank Marshall – UMP Modifieds, Lee Price – Factory Stocks, and Ryan Flagel – Pure Stocks.

Ken Dickinson held off Chrissy Wallace and Grant Sharp to win the Fall Shootout 100-lap Late Model feature this past Saturday night. David Bates won the Modified feature. Robert Reeves was the big winner in the Road Warriors and Paul Jepsen won in the Chargers.

Naima Lang held off Kelly Mann and Pete Harding to win the 200-lap Fall Classic event on Sunday. Mel Patnode won the Street Stock main event with Bryon Goetz and Richard Peters finishing second and third. Jeff Stevenson finished ahead of Buck Noel Jr. and Terry Cook to win the Hobby Stocks main event.
