Havasu 95 Speedway to Serve Up a Full Night of Racing This Saturday

Lake Havasu City, Arizona -- The Havasu 95 Speedway will be treating its fans to a very full evening of hot ASA sanctioned racing action this Saturday night, October 8th, on the quarter mile paved oval located within the Sara Park complex in Lake Havasu City-Arizona. Contributing to the on track action will be the ASA Street Stocks, Factory Stocks and Team Factory Stocks. Making their 2011-2012 winter racing season debut Saturday night will be the Gene Price Motorsports I Love Legends Series and the Sam Nichols Electric Bandoleros. Yet another highlight will be a special guest appearance by the ASA Speed Trucks.

"One of the lynch pins of our program is our ASA Street Stock Series."Bill Rozhon

Speedway Promoter Bill Rozhon is extremely excited about his race program this Saturday night. "One of the lynch pins of our program is our ASA Street Stock Series," he said adding" those guys really put on a terrific show during our season opening weekend. We started 14 Street Stocks in that race and I'm looking for everyone of them to be back this Saturday night." Rick Zirges won the first street stock feature of the season and can expect some stiff competition from the likes of Rick Maddox Jr and Phillip Waterman among others.

The other lynch pin of the Havasu 95 Speedway's program is their Factory Stock division. This highly affordable entry level into stock car racing has played a major role regarding why the grandstands are always packed at the speedway. "The division was 17 strong in their season opening main event and when you have that many factory stockers on the track at the same time there's going to be plenty of action," Rozhon pointed out. Brent Delay,Chris Weiss, Brandon Weiss and Brandon Guevara were the major players in that season opener.

Also garnering a lot of early season attention is the speedway's new team factory stock concept. Each team has to split up the season schedule among three drivers, with at least one of them being a lady driver, and they race for team points. "This concept has been a big hit with our local fans. We had 12 teams two weeks ago and I'm hearing they may be even more at our next race," Rozhon said.

The racing stars of tomorrow will be prevalent Saturday night when the Sam Nichols Electric Bandolero division makes their season debut. These youngsters in their very small, but very swift, race cars are huge fan favorites. "We've got kids coming here from California, Nevada and Arizona to race with us," Rozhon said adding "we're thrilled that Sam Nichols Electric has signed up with us for the third year to sponsor our kids. Once again they will be providing U.S. savings bonds

to our championship points leaders at the end of the season. This program is a big hit both for the racers and the speedway"

The Gene Price Motorsports I Love Legends Series will be making their season debut at the Havasu 95 Speedway Saturday night. Greatly resembling old style roadsters from the 1930's and 1940's, and powered by motorcycle engines, the Legends literally fly around the track and are long time fan favorites. "Ed Niquette has really put together a really good package for the Gene Price Motorsports I Love Legends Series. I'm looking for good things from them Saturday night. We could have as many as 20 legends in the main event," Rozhon said.

Todd and Lisa McLauchlin are in the process of wrapping up their second, successful, season as the proprietors of the ASA Speed Truck Series which is in its 15th season of high quality truck racing. The series will be treating the Havasu 95 Speedway to a 75 lap feature. They will also be bringing a very tight championship points race with them. Taylor Miinch holds a very slim two points lead over series veteran Jeff Catlin going into Saturday night.

For you lovers of tailgate racing, the weapons of choice in this series are the Chevrolet Colorado and S-10, Ford Ranger, Dodge Dakota and Toyota Tacoma. "We're really looking forward to hosting the ASA Speed trucks at our track," Rozhon said adding "I talked to Todd and Lisa who told me they were expecting a full field of 14 trucks for our race. They always put on a good show for the fans."

The Havasu 95 Speedway weekend begins on Friday night with a test and tune session for the teams, from 6 to 9 pm, which is free to the public. On Saturday race day the spectator gates will open at 5 pm with the racing beginning at 7 pm. General admission ticket prices are $12 and $10 for senior, military and handicapped fans. Kids tickets, ages six to 16, are $6 while kids five and under will be admitted free when accompanied by a paid adult. Lake Havasu Unified School District students will receive a one dollar discount by presenting their school ID card. The speedway also offers a fan friendly family package for $25 which admits two adults and two kids. Also for $25 fans can enjoy the amenities of the speedway's VIP section featuring the best seats in the house.
