The Left Coast Racing Scene: A Lucas Oil Weekend in Las Vegas

In 1989 a basic idea, and a great American dream, became reality with the creation of Lucas Oil. At the time, company founders Forrest and Charlotte Lucas were looking for an effective means to aggressively market their new line of automotive oil, additives and lubricants. They turned their attention to motorsports and it turned out to be a marketing match made in heaven. Over the past two decades plus, the name Lucas Oil has been synonymous with every form of motorized competition you can name. In fact, it's extremely difficult to find a form of motorsports that hasn't benefited from their marketing concepts.

To the potential delight of thousands of racing fans, Lucas Oil will be bringing their motorsports promotions to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway complex November 4th through the 6th. Seeing action that weekend will be the Lucas Oil Modified Racing Series, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. These three signature events are part of a huge racing weekend at a complex that specializes in top of the line racing weekends.

For the Lucas Oil Modified Racing Series, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink, this is post season time. The highly successful series, which recently completed its sixth season October 22nd in Lake Havasu City-Arizona, will be running the E3 Spark Plugs 75 on Saturday, November 5th. That's 75 full green flag laps around the Las Vegas Bullring's always challenging three eighths of a mile oval.

The E3 Spark Plugs 75 will be offering drivers a special purse structure for Saturday night's race. The winner will receive an astounding $3,000. That alone guarantees a higher than normal sense of intensity among the starting field. It's also going to bring out some of the best open wheel modified talent from the western states area. That includes strong pre race favorites like northern California's Scott Winters and Idaho's Shelby Stroebel. Never to be overlooked is Lucas Oil series regular Austin Barnes who was a five time feature winner during the regular season.

The E3 Spark Plugs 75 has the making of being a wheel to wheel barn burner loaded with racing talent. It's going to be a very exciting part of the Las Vegas Bullring's huge Open Comp Weekend.
