SONOMA, California — The 15th annual U.S. Legend Cars Road Course World Finals returns to the Infineon Raceway road course this weekend, Nov. 11-12.
More than 50 drivers from as far as Finland will compete on the 12-turn, 2.52-mile road course over two days of great racing action. Practice and qualifying will take place on Friday with championship races slated for Saturday.
Racers will compete in five-eighths scale fiberglass full-fendered versions of NASCAR modified cars capable of reaching speeds up to 120 mph. All cars feature 1,250cc Yamaha engines. Competition will be featured in five divisions: Pro (drivers with racing experience); Semi-Pro (drivers with limited racing experience); Masters (drivers over 40 years old); Young Lions (drivers 15-16 years old); and Thunder Roadster.
Several Northern California racers are set to compete including Suisun City’s Skip Brown (Masters); Rocklin’s Robert Czub (Pro); Roseville’s Mike Dutro (Masters); Vallejo’s Phil Joy (Masters); Orangevale’s Frankie Marks (Pro); McKinleyville’s Fred Hanks and Robert Nelson (Thunder Roadster); and Livermore’s Thomas Woehrle and Steve Wilson (Masters);.
Gates open at 8 a.m. each day and tickets are $10 for a two-day pass. Children 12-and-under are FREE and parking is FREE. As part of the Infineon Raceway Food Drive, spectators who bring six or more non-perishable food items will be admitted free throughout the race weekend.
