1. Two-Time - Jim Pettit II rallies to claim his second SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series championship. (2008, 2011)
2. Seven in Row - Derek Thorn sets fast time at the final seven races of the year.
3. Rocky Mountain High - The SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series made its first trip to Rocky Mountain Raceways outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, which featured a great finish with Jacob Gomes holding off M.K. Kanke and Thorn to win the Century Boatland 115.
4. Rookie Title Fight -The battle for the 2011 Victory Circle Rookie-of-the-Year came down to the last race of the year with Michael Sandoval winning the title by just seven points over Ken Benhamou.
5. Sophomore Season - Gomes won his first career SRL event, then went on to win two more races and challenge for the championship title in just his second full season.
6. New National Program - Sunoco and Joe Gibbs Racing chose the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series as one of five series that will be part of the 2012 Sunoco Driven Challenge, where one driver will earn the chance to test with JGR in the fall of 2012.
7. First Time Winner - Cal Poly San Luis Obispo engineering student Bobby Hodges wins at Roseville in only his third career SRL start.
8. Repeat Champ - Cale Kanke wins his second consecutive SRL Legends Series championship.
9. Hard Charger - Keith Spangler lead the series with four “PitStopUSA.com Hard Charger Awards”, finished a career high second at Stockton 99, then went on to another top six in the championship.
10. One Yellow - Only one caution period occurred during the 140-lap event at Madera Speedway on September 24th.
11. Another Champ - 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series champion and 2004 NASCAR National champ, Greg Pursley plans to compete in the SRL in 2012.
