RACERS VIEW: JOHNNY BORNEMAN III ON LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

RacingWest: What comes to mind when you think of racing the Las Vegas Motor Speedway?
Johnny Borneman: Fast & fun, provides a good race for the team to be able to bring family and friends.

RacingWest: Did you have the opportunity to test at Vegas? If so how did your lap time compare to the other teams and did you learn anything?
Johnny Borneman: We tested back on the 24th and 25tj of September. We were fast right out of the box but going into turn three the car got away from me and I hit the wall. I hated it for the guys. They had just finished painting the car and unfortunately it was torn up pretty bad. The good news is the car is on its way back from Hopkins(NC) so we will still be using our best car.

RacingWest: What do you think will be the key to getting around the 1-½ mile oval?
Johnny Borneman: Having a car that will work on the bottom.

RacingWest: Where will you be staying while in Vegas?
Johnny Borneman: With some of the pranks we have pulled on other teams over the last one and a one-half years, I would rather not say.

RacingWest: What extra recreational activities will you be taking advantage of while in Vegas?
Johnny Borneman: Debi Dahlman from Dahlman Professional Services in Mission Viejo (Calif.) is throwing a party for the team at the Rio on Friday night. We will be gambling a little I hope.

RacingWest: Do you have a competitor that you feel is truly worthy of the Sportsman of the Year Award? The Most Popular?
Johnny Borneman: I've always had a good time racing with Mark Reed, he is a good clean racer.
